Il Spir
The observation deck «Il Spir» is just short walk away from the restaurant Conn. «Il Spir» means common swift in Romansh, accordingly the platform floats over the canyon. You will be offered a 180-degress view over the «Swiss Grand Canyon». From Flims you can reach Conn within a 45-minute walk.
The mermaid of Valendas
The largest wooden fountain in Europe is located on the village square of Valendas, which is also nationally protected. A figure carved from wood and painted in color is the outstanding part of the fountain. It depicts a mermaid, semi-nude, with a tail fin and a picture hat. Just behind it is the well-known Gasthaus am Brunnen with its patio restaurant. The hosts of the “Gault Millau” restaurant will spoil you with vast fanciful regional specialties.
Culinary Trail
One trail – three restaurants. On the culinary trail “Forest & Water”, you will get to know not only the scenic but also the local culinary attractions. You start in Flims Waldhaus, where you relish the first course at the Bistro Kaufmannfrauen. Past Lake Cauma and along the Rhine Gorge, you reach Conn, where the main course awaits you. After a short detour to the “Il Spir” viewpoint, you will reach the restaurant of Lake Cresta for dessert before heading back to Flims via the impressive Felsbach Gorge.
