The Rhine Gorge is a protected region. It needs our joint dedication to ensure that this unique natural environment is well preserved for generations to come. We will show you how to behave respectfully in nature.
Hiking trails
Please stay on the signposted hiking trails.
Bike trails
The hiking trail along the Rhine is not meant for bikers.
Gravel banks
Ban on entering the gravel banks marked with signs from April 1 to July 15 to protect the ground-breeding bird species little ringed plover and sandpiper.
Camping
Camping is only allowed on the official camping grounds in the region.
On water
Accretion with canoe or boats is not permitted outside of the marked locations.
Fireplaces
Please use the official fireplaces and check on possible fire bans in the region.
Littering
Take your litter with you and keep the nature clean.
Obligation to use a lead
Dogs need to be leashed in the whole Rhine Gorge.
